Harlyn Bay & Surrounding Area
Harlyn
Bay is a real gem - a wide, sandy and sheltered beach nestling within the
beautiful unspoilt north Cornish coast. It is an perfect location for family
holidays, the
sea is ideal for bathing, swimming and surfing. The beach is patrolled by life
guards during the summer months and Harlyn
Surf School operates from the beach most of the year.
Harlyn is one of the "Seven Bays for Seven days" located around
the village of St Merryn, the others bays are Constantine, Porthcothan, Mother
Ivy's, Bobby's, Treyarnon and Trevone. St Merryn is less than a mile away
and caters well for your daily needs with a variety of shops and restaurants,
two pubs, a surf hire shop and a petrol station.
The
highly acclaimed "The
Pig at Harlyn" is a only a few steps from the bungalow and caters for
non residence. The Trevose
Golf Club which
overlooks the sea is only about ½ mile away. Home of the
championship golf course, it is an excellent Golf Club having two 9 hole and one
18 hole courses, as well as a swimming pool, tennis courts, table tennis,
restaurant, bar etc. It is very popular and it is possible to join as a
temporary member.
Situated on to the Camel
Estuary the fishing village of Padstow is
about 3 miles away, there is a wide selection of shops and restaurants including Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant.
